Naos Action Design is a project born from a unique vision of industrial design, with a central quest for movement. Many have tried to imitate this philosophy. But Naos uniquely offers productive excellence through continuous research.
The Action Design project started in the mid 1980’s by designers who were researching, realizing and proposing collections of interior design accessories with a common trait of movement. These extending tables and rotating coffee tables were not only designed for the future interpreted as a conscience progression from static and self-referential formality, but the present which craved interior design that was able to animate our homes.
Moving mechanisms are the source of invention that still characterizes Naos’ entire process. The idea of movement is intrinsic to the product. It is an expression of the more intimate, moving identity of Naos’ brand. Not only can their products move, but movement is also Naos’ company philosophy. In a global, variable and fluid market with an increase in dynamism, it is important that the flow of Naos’ conceptual work is continuous, diverse, but coherent. Flow is movement, and movement is Action Design.
